SOLID SURFACE

Solid surface sinks are often confused with Corian. It is man-made with a mixture of acrylic, epoxy and more polymers.

The only downside to a solid surface is the cost.

FIRECLAY

Why choose fireclay?

• Stain-resistant

Along with solid surface sinks, fireclay is also costly.

BRASS

Why choose brass?

• More durable

• Custom look

The downside to brass is that it can be easily dented and scratched. It will also look dull if not maintained.

GLASS

Why choose glass?

• Looks amazing

Only downside to glass is that it is fragile. Glass will break and it is sensitive to heat as well.

STONE

Why choose stone?

• A wide range of colors, grains, texture

Stone sinks are expensive. Downsides to stone is that it needs to be sealed, more easily to get stains and scratches.

WHITE CHINA

Why choose vitreous china?

• Durable

• Available in different colors and shapes

The downside to vitreous china is that it is extremely sensitive to heat (e.g. boiling water)

PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON IRON/STEEL

Why choose porcelain?

Looks spectacular when shiny (buffing the sink)

Available is a variety of colors

The downside to porcelain is that once you get a stain it is hard to remove without damaging. The damage would be to the enamel layer of the sink.

STAINLESS STEEL

Why choose stainless steel?

• Heat-resistant

• Durable

In comparison to other sinks, stainless steel is also expensive. The downside is that it can be noisy and will show any fingerprints and water marks.
