Step 1: Identify the material of your wall switch plates and outlet covers
Typically switch plates are either plastic or metal.
Step 2: If they are Plastic: Use a Melamine Foam Sponge
The most popular brand know is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
You can choose between the original Magic Eraser block or the Magic Eraser Sheets.
For wall switch plates and outlet covers, we recommend the blocks vs the sheets!
Step 3: Lightly Wet a Corner of the Melamine Foam Sponge. Magic erasers easily rub the surface with little to no force and remove any visible stains and dirt. Best part of it all, you DO NOT need a towel to dry clean the surface.

That is it! Most importantly, you do not need to add a disinfecting solution or use a cloth to clean off any solution. Magic Erasers/Sheets will kill 99% of bacteria and germs!
For metal switch plates and outlet covers use Disinfecting Wipes. Simply scrub down with the disinfecting wipe onto the plate and outlet cover.
If it is the case that you do not have disinfecting wipes, you can use a cloth with a drop of dishwashing soap. Simply dampen the cloth and pour a drop of dishwashing soap and begin to scrub all of the surfaces. Leave the surfaces to dry and you are all set!
